Fragrance for women

Designer : Jacques Guerlain
Lauching date : 1933
Olfactory group oriental, chypre

In the dawn of the aero-postal era, a plane takes off from Paris for Buenos Aires. Suddenly, the radio loses contact. A tornado rushes through the cordillera of the Andes.

The pilot has been married for six weeks. But every second takes him a little farther from her, from her voice, from her smile. This perfume is an homage to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, whose celebrated 1931 novel exalted courage, heroism and the fierce will to succeed. As courageous as the book, Vol de Nuit is the perfume of risk and dangerous games.

Brimming with audacity, it is the perfume of the woman who goes for broke.

A voyage into the infinite
A precious perfume with multiple facets, Vol de Nuit is also a perfume of mystery, one of the most sophisticated faceted creations. It’s highly assertive personality makes it a perfume of merit for women who dare take risks.

Vol de Nuit 1

The relief of the smoked glass bottle evokes a propeller in motion and represents the drawing of an airplane wing in flight. Its name is cut out in gilded metal, recalling a propeller belt. A symbol of modernism, the square metallic stopper evokes a mechanical part and celebrates the triumph of mechanization and the conquest of air.

Notes

Rare, enigmatic, audacious Its oriental notes, rendered slightly bitter by the green note of galbanum, can be surprising but they reward those women who have the audacity to tame its mystery. The cocktail of flowers at its heart is like fireworks, where daffodil, violet, carnation, jasmine and rose reveal their assertive, modest, impertinent, sensual and feminine characters. At once a chypre, woody and exotic, Vol de Nuit is inimitable.
