With style > Style icons of past generations taught us the importance of grooming

For men only > With style > Style icons of past generations taught us the importance of grooming
Special collaboration: Dan Trepanier

Every man wants to leave a legacy. We fear death because we don’t want to be forgotten. Because of this, men have always celebrated tradition and respected the classics -the people and things that have lasted the test of time. We all want to leave our mark, so we respect -and adore -those who have been able to do so.

Our father’s generation there are a handful of men (actors, musicians, artists, politicians, etc) that have reached “icon” status and who hold a timeless level of “cool” that men everywhere aspired to. These men had simple, classic style -not overly accessorized -but they knew the importance of staying well groomed.

Social media has allowed guys to celebrate together the legacies of other great men. For example, fashion publications often do features on “the most stylish men of all time”, recent designer collections have been directly inspired by iconic men of the past (like Barbour xSteven McQuenn or Michael Bastian x James Dean) and there are handfuls of popular blogs and websites dedicated to documenting the lifestyles of these “icons”.

Notice that iconic men of style are always well groomed. Clean facial hair, fresh haircut, cleanly shaped around the face andears. These men understood, and taught us, the importance of a neat confident look.

Examples: James Dean, Steve McQueen, Cary Grant, Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Andy Worhol, Elvis Presley, Miles Davis, Muhammed Ali, etc.
